A New Crop of Localvores?

Preschoolers Plant Beans

A group of CCBA preschoolers came to the Canillas Community Garden in Lebanon to plant rattlesnake beans for a tepee.

Each made a hole to the first knuckle, like this.

And like that.

They watered the beans, walked the spiral flower path, smelled and tasted mint, and posed for a photo. They will return next week to water the beans and watch them grow.

Young Bean Farmers

We hope our bean tepee will be as successful as last year’s – a perfect little hideaway!
